MARINE CORPS BASE QUANTICO, Va. -- On April 23, 2026, Portfolio Acquisition Executive Marine Corps (PAE MC) released a Request for White Paper (RFW) to identify potential solutions for the Organic Precision Fires – Medium (OPF-M) program.
OPF is a Marine Corps modernization priority which will provide multiple echelons of the Fleet Marine Force with an organic, loitering, beyond-line-of-sight precision strike capability. OPF-M will procure a dismounted anti-armor/anti-material loitering munition system capable of being launched from the ground and engaging targets at a significantly greater range, loiter time, and lethality.
The OPF-M program intends to deliver capability to the Marine Corps in phased releases. The first phase will provide Baseline System Capabilities (BSC) aimed at delivering procurement-ready solutions within one year of contract award. Concurrently, the program intends to invest in Capability Growth Areas (CGA) aimed at developing improvements to the BSC for follow-on phased releases.
This year, the OPF program will complete market research and issue a formal solicitation inviting proposals for a limited number of prototype OTA awards in FY 2027 for demonstrations, further development, testing, and potential future production consideration.
